Taxco Alley graphite
Painting nature and small towns with people come natural to me. I lived in a ranch in Mexico as a boy. The quietness of a place or the gentle sound of water in a stream, the distant bark of a dog or a group of locals in a conversation is all part of the magic of these places. Urban-scapes can also make very powerful paintings with their endless patterns of light and shade on the geometric shapes of the city.
Allthough I have tried most painting techniques, oils are my preferred.
I don't offer prints of my oil paintings because the process of scanning and printing causes some color shifting making it harder to reproduce the correct colors.
Graphite pencil is much easier to reproduce so I'm very confortable with these prints.
Alternatively my color Prints are painted digitally and the prints are much closer to the original screen colors.
